Pasta with Tomato Sauce
A very quick and simple dish (assuming you're not making the pasta from scratch). It will, of course, be even more delicious if you go to the trouble of making your own fresh pasta. I was not feeling that ambitious however, so I used some store-bought dried pasta.
Pasta with Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- 450g dried pasta or 680g fresh pasta
- 1 recipe Tomato Sauce
Directions
- If making fresh pasta, make the dough first so that it has time to rest a bit before rolling.
- Prepare a cooked tomato sauce as directed in the sauce recipe.
- You may roll and cut the pasta while the sauce is cooking.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the pasta. Cooking times will vary depending on the size and shape of pasta used and whether it is fresh or dried.
- Once the pasta is cooked to your desired doneness, drain it well and toss it with the sauce.
- If desired, garnish with a bit of fresh basil and/or Parmesan cheese before serving.
