Mushroom Pizza

This is a great use for mushrooms if you have a couple different varieties available. I've used a mixture of cremini, shiitake, and oyster mushrooms for mine, but other varieties could be used as well. Krytans are particularly fond of portobellos. And white mushrooms make frequent appearances throughout the continent due to their ubiquity.


Mushroom Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 Cheese Pizza
  • 100g mixed mushrooms1, sliced or rough chopped
  • extra cheese (optional)

Directions

  1. Assemble the cheese pizza.
  2. Top with mushrooms.
  3. Add a light sprinkling of extra cheese on top of the mushrooms if desired.
  4. Bake at 260°C (500°F) for 5-7 minutes (5 minutes for pastry crust; 7 minutes for bread crust).



1 I prefer to sauté the mushrooms in a bit of butter before adding them to the pizza, although may chefs choose to forgo this step. Back
