Buttered Toast

Toast: a simple, well-known breakfast staple throughout Tyria. Maybe not the most exciting breakfast, but worth mentioning for its ubiquity, if nothing else. In North America, toast is normally made by cooking the bread in some sort of dry heat (like a toaster or toaster oven) and then spread with butter. And, indeed, this is also done in Tyria. Although the heat source there is more commonly an open fire. However, many Tyrians prefer to use a frying pan when it's available. I've included instructions for both below.

Buttered Toast (Toaster)

Ingredients

• 1 slice of bread
• 1/2 Tbsp. butter, softened

Directions

1. Toast your bread until it reaches your desired level of done-ness.
2. Spread butter evenly over bread while the toast is still nice and hot.
3. Enjoy with a glass of milk or fruit juice.

Buttered Toast (Frying Pan)

Ingredients

• 1 slice of bread
• 1 Tbsp. butter, softened

Directions

1. Preheat a pan over medium-low heat.
2. Spread the bread with butter on both sides.
3. Cook bread for ~5 minutes per side.
4. Remove from pan and enjoy on its own or with your favourite toppings.
