Salsa

A quick and easy condiment to throw together. It can be made with either fresh or canned tomatoes and chiles. I generally find it easiest to opt for the canned versions of the ingredients, but fresh can be nice too. Especially if you're willing to stray from the recipe a bit and add a few extra seasonings. (I like to include green onions, pepper, and fresh cilantro.) If you are going to use fresh tomatoes, make sure you have a good sharp knife! Nothing worse than trying to chop tomatoes with a dull knife.


Salsa

Ingredients

  • 400g diced tomatoes
  • 1 chipotle chile in adobo, minced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped fine
  • juice of 1/2 a lemon (~1 Tbsp.)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • small pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  2. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
