Tomato Soup
A simple, but lovely tomato soup.
As with most Tyrian cream soups, it starts with the standard cream soup base to which tomatoes, sugar, and sautee mix are added.

Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 1 bowl of sautee mix
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 bowl of cream soup base
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 800mL diced tomatoes
Directions
- Cook the sautee mix over medium heat until onions soften (3-5 minutes).
- Add the tomato paste and cook for another minute or two.
- Stir in the cream soup base. If you don't have the soup base already made, you can easily make it in place by simply adding the butter and flour for the roux to the softened alliums, cooking it, and then adding the stock, milk, salt, and pepper, and cooking until thickened.
- Stir in the sugar and tomatoes and cook until heated through (~5 minutes longer).
- Puree until smooth.
- Serve with buttered toast or cornbread.
