Coleslaw
If you ever have the chance to visit Tyria and happen to be served a bowl of coleslaw, you may notice it's a bit different than what you're used to at home. In my experience, Terran coleslaw usually involves a dressing made primarily of either mayonnaise or oil and vinegar. Tyrian coleslaw takes a different route and uses sour cream as the base.
Not much else is added. Usually there's a bit of oil and vinegar as well. Other than that, the only seasoning is salt and pepper. And, although cabbage is always the foundational ingredient, other vegetables are often included as well, depending on what's on hand and in season. Carrots are a particular favourite. I like them for the additional colour, flavour, and nutritional value that they impart. Other seasonings such as mustard seeds, celery seeds, garlic, and onion are also occasionally included, but they are not commonplace in most household preparations of this refreshing salad.
As I tend to prefer my dressings to be heavy on the acidity and light on the oil, I usually use a bit extra vinegar and omit the oil entirely. As always, these recipes should be adjusted to your own tastes as you see fit.
