Blackberry Pear Compote
While compotes can be eaten as a dessert in their own right, they are especially good as a sauce or garnish to dress up other desserts. I like to serve them over ice cream, yogurt, or cakes.
I made my compote with three pears and just a handfull of blackberries because that's what I had on hand. Personally though, I prefer a slightly higher ratio of blackberries to pears. I've given a range for both ingredients. Adjust it as you see fit or based on what you have available.
