Mashed Potatoes
This hardly needs a recipe. Mashed potatoes are simple and common enough that I'm pretty sure most folks -- Terran and Tyrian alike -- could figure it out without much guidance. But, in the interest of completeness, here it is.
Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- potatoes (preferably slightly waxy)
- 1/4 c. unsalted butter per kg of potatoes
- 2 Tbsp. milk or buttermilk per kg of potatoes
- 1 tsp. coarse sea salt per kg of potatoes
Directions
- You can peel the potatoes if you like, but I usually prefer to leave the skins on.
- If the potatoes are large, halve or quarter them to help them cook faster.
- Place the potatoes in a pot with enough water to cover them and bring to a boil.
- Boil until fork tender.
- Drain and add butter, milk, and salt. (Sometimes I add a little pepper at this point too.)
- Mash with a potato masher or a fork until no large chunks remain.
